Paving Fabrics

The problem facing the pavement owner is how to surpass a pavement’s design life while working with shrinking budgets and increasing repair needs. The placement of an asphalt overlay on top of an existing pavement is rarely a long term repair. Due to the continuous freeze thaw cycle, the cracks and joints spread through the overlay causing reflection cracking at an average rate of one inch per year. Paving fabrics are used as a moisture barrier and stress absorbing interlayer beneath the asphalt overlay to diminish reflective cracking. They improve road performance, and extends the useful life of the overlay. Most of the paving fabric we use are recyclable.

Paving fabrics are ideal for: • streets and highways • parking lots • Recreational paths • tennis courts/ basketball courts • and much more

Water is Pavement’s Worst Enemy

• Fabric interlayers have a very long and successful waterproofing history in all climates.

• Fabric interlayers are successfully being placed at a rate of over 100 million yards Every Year!

• Fabric interlayers reduce surface water from entering and destroying the road base.

Pavement Rehabilitation with Moisture Barrier Protection

GlasPave

A number of pavement interlayer systems address the challenges of reflective cracking caused by traffic loading, age hardening or temperature cycling in asphalt structures. These systems offer a cost-effective alternative to thicker asphalt overlays, which resolve the problem only at the surface, and for a shorter period of time. However, not all interlayer systems provide effective moisture barrier protection as well.
The GlasPave® Asphalt Reinforcement System does both. Manufactured by Saint-Gobain ADFORS and distributed exclusively in the Americas by Tensar International, the GlasPave Mat features a unique combination of fiberglass mesh embedded between layers of high-performance polyester fabric. This results in the highest tensile strength at low strain (3-5%) compared to any conventional, full-coverage paving fabric or mat product on the market. This combination of materials and engineered strength helps reduce reflective cracking, improve road performance, lower maintenance requirements and extend pavement service life.

PETROMAT® Enviro

For 50 years the paving industry has relied on PETROMAT® Propex GeoSolutions is thrilled to launch PETROMAT® Enviro. Combining innovation and sustainable design, this patent pending technology is engineered to easily mill into small pieces so it can be recycled into reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and used in new hot mix asphalt (HMA) or warm mix asphalt (WMA). Additionally, Enviro provides unmatched moisture protection for roads while absorbing stress to slow fatigue and reflective cracking in asphalt pavement. But recyclable is only half the story. Enviro is an engineered interlayer solution that outperforms the competition from start to finish.

GlasGrid® Asphalt Reinforcement System

The GlasGrid® Asphalt Reinforcement System is composed of fiberglass strands coated with an elastomeric polymer and formed into a grid structure. Each strand has a remarkably high tensile strength and high modulus of elasticity; this is particularly important as asphalt concrete typically cracks at low strains.

When the GlasGrid System is sandwiched between the leveling course and the surface course in an asphalt overlay, it becomes the hidden strength in the road, turning vertical crack stresses horizontally to effectively dissipate them.

HaTelit

Flexible, high-strength, temperature-resistant grid for effective reinforcement of asphalt layers. The asphalt reinforcement products of our HaTelit family allow a significant extension of renovation intervals. Thus the useful life of the traffic areas is extended. Because of the associated reduction in maintenance costs, HaTelit offers a very economical solution for the repair of road surfaces.
